Cathy Neece Brown has been named interim president of The Arts Council of Fort Worth, replacing Jody Ulich, who will depart this month to become the director of Convention and Cultural Services in Sacramento, Calif.
Brown previously served the organization as the vice president for development and marketing from 2009-2012. She will begin her new duties on Aug. 29.
Brown has more than 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She is currently vice president for development at the James L. West Alzheimer’s Center.
“It is both an honor and a privilege to be asked to step in as interim president,” said Brown. “The Arts Council has served the community for 51 years, and I look forward to continuing the partnership with Fort Worth’s outstanding arts community.”
Brown, a violinist, says the arts have profoundly impacted her personal and professional creativity. She is currently assisting with the process to update the city of Fort Worth’s 2014 Cultural Plan, which outlines the future of arts and culture in the Fort Worth community.
