Pudge Rodriguez throws summer baseball camps at Fort Worth school

Former Texas Rangers catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez will host a trio of baseball camps this summer at All Saints’ Episcopal School of Fort Worth.
Two general sessions will be offered May 28-31 and June 10-13 and a Catcher-Intensive session June 24-26. All sessions will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day on the All Saints’ campus. Online registration can be found at www.ASESFTW.org/PudgeCamp.
Rodriguez said his mother was a school teacher for more than 20 years in Puerto Rico, “so my goal was to honor education and incorporate it with these baseball camps,” he said. “I chose All Saints’ for many reasons – their philosophy of developing individual gifts of each student; the leadership of the school; their current facilities and the fact that they have available land should we choose to expand this concept.”
The general sessions will focus on hitting, catching, base running, stealing and sliding, bunting, defensive techniques, mechanics and athletic performance training. The Catcher-Intensive session will emphasize the mechanical aspects of catching and the mental focus of the position. Additionally, health and wellness discussions will take place as well as an emphasis on a strong work ethic.
All Saints’ Director of Athletics, Aaron Beck, said Rodriguez didn’t just lend his name to the baseball camps.
“He plans to invest his time and energy in these kids,” Beck said.
All Saints’ Episcopal School is a private PK-12 college preparatory day school located at 9700 Saints Circle in Fort Worth.
