Fort Worth's Goff, LaCrosse named Entrepreneurs of the Year

John Goff, named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Southwest Region was also named the Private Company CEO of the Year by the Fort Worth Business Press in 2013.

Kenneth A. Hersh, co-founder and CEO of NGP Energy Capital Management, a investment franchise in the natural resources industry was recognized as the Master Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner.  The Master Entrepreneur Of The Year award singles out an individual whose achievements over time stand as a role-model for entrepreneurship and involvement in solving the issues of their industries and communities.

Philip J. Romano was honored for his serial entrepreneurship. He is responsible for creating 30+ restaurant concepts, six of which have grown into national chains, including Fuddruckers, Romano's Macaroni Grill and eatZi's.   The serial award recognizes Romano's creativity in generating entrepreneurial success, over and over again.

John Goff, chairman and chief executive officer of Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC, was named as one of the EY Entrepreneurs of the Year for the Southwest Region in the real estate and construction category.
The award recognizes individuals who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses.


“It’s an honor to represent Crescent as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year as we celebrate Crescent’s 20th anniversary,” Goff said. “We received this recognition because of all of our employees, partners, customers and vendors, both past and present, who have helped make Crescent what it is today.
Goff’s timely purchases and sales of Class A office properties in Texas, Nevada and Colorado and the development of an employee team focused on superior customer service, were cited as the basis for the success of both Goff and Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate.


Goff took the company public in 1994 and sold at the peak of the commercial real estate market in 2007. He reacquired the firm with Barclays Capital in 2009.
Through its subsidiaries, Crescent manages and develops Class A office buildings. The company also holds investments in resort residential developments in locations such as Scottsdale, Vail Valley and Lake Tahoe; a luxury hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas; and Canyon Ranch.
Goff was honored as Private Company CEO of the Year in 2013 by the Fort Worth Business Press.


Currently, Goff and Crescent Real Estate are developing select office and retail properties in Dallas and Houston.
Clane LaCrosse, president and CEO of Fort Worth’s Bosque Systems, was also named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year. Bosque Systems is a diversified water management company serving the oil and natural gas industry.
