2014 Schieffer Symposium to feature Evening News broadcast, Bob Woodward

The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley will broadcast live from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication on the Texas Christian University campus at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

Following the broadcast, Pelley, anchor and managing editor, will join Bob Schieffer, moderator of CBS’ Face the Nation, CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent and TCU alumnus, at the 10th Annual Schieffer Symposium on the News.
“Scott and Executive Producer Pat Shevlin love to take the broadcast where news is happening and I’m clearly biased on this one, but I can’t think of a more exciting place to anchor the news than the TCU campus,” said Schieffer. “I think it will make this year’s symposium the best ever. We’ve also assembled an all-star cast of front line journalists to talk about the news and the revolution in communications.”

In addition to Pelley, panelists for the symposium will include legendary Watergate reporter Bob Woodward, who was a panelist in the inaugural Schieffer Symposium in 2005; Peggy Noonan, author and columnist for the The Wall Street Journal; and Jane Pauley, longtime anchor of the Today show, 12-year co-host of Dateline and author of "Your Life Calling: Reimagining the Rest of Your Life," a current New York Times best seller.
Tickets for the Schieffer Symposium will go on sale March 8 and will be available at www.schieffercollege.tcu.edu.
