Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company, added Owen Coulman and Darin Howell as regional commercial sales managers in North America. They will be responsible for sales activities and building relationships with current customers in their respective regions. Before joining Bell Helicopter, Coulman attended Oregon State University on a Naval ROTC Scholarship and served as a U.S. Marine. He began his career as a communications officer before transitioning to aviation, earning designation as an AH-1W SuperCobra pilot in 1999. Coulman flew for the rest of his 20-year career while serving in numerous staff and leadership positions. He has deployed with three Marine Expeditionary Units and to Okinawa, Japan, and served two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. A commercial pilot and aircraft owner, Coulman also earned his Federal Aviation Administration certified flight instructor instrument (helicopter) rating. At Bell Helicopter, Coulman will be responsible for the western United States, specifically California, Arizona and Hawaii. Howell led both new product and new market penetration initiatives across multiple industries, including aviation and technology. Before joining Bell Helicopter, he worked in a similar role at a technology sector capital equipment company. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a CH-46E helicopter pilot, earning multiple flight designations including assault flight leader and instructor pilot. Howell has an FAA commercial pilot certificate and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Baldwin-Wallace College. At Bell Helicopter he will be responsible for the northeastern United States.

Charles (Chuck) Hyle has been elected to the board of Texas Capital Bancshares Inc., the parent company of Texas Capital Bank. Hyle also was appointed to the audit committee. He has more than 40 years of experience in global credit and risk management. He was a risk executive with Barclays and later the corporate chief risk officer and member of the management committee of Cleveland-based Key Bank. Hyle has a bachelor’s degree in history from Williams College and completed the Advanced Management Program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Susan F. Smith, a senior associate with Cantey Hanger LLP, has been elected to the 2014 board for the North Texas Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Smith has been a member of NTSHRM since 2011. Her law practice has a strong health care focus, in addition to her construction and general litigation practice.
David Johnson, a shareholder at Winstead PC, has been elected treasurer of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. Johnson is certified in civil trial law, civil appellate law and personal injury law. He is licensed and has practiced in the U.S. Supreme Court; the 5th, 7th and 11th U.S. Circuits; the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; the Texas Supreme Court, and various Texas intermediate appellate courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the College of the State Bar of Texas and the Counsel of Appellate Lawyers. Johnson graduated magna cum laude from Baylor Law School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baylor University.
Glenn Wallace has been selected as CEO of Medical Center of Alliance, which is under construction in North Fort Worth. Wallace will have a dual role as chief operating officer of The Medical Center of Plano, a position he’s had since June 2010, and CEO of Medical Center of Alliance until his replacement as COO in Plano is named. Wallace has more than 24 years of experience in the health care industry. Formerly he was COO at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills. Judi Messer has been named chief nursing officer of Medical Center of Alliance. Messer is chief nursing officer of Denton Regional Medical Center, where she has overseen the hospital’s designation as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center, its Level III Trauma reaccreditation, and a Joint Commission Stroke Accreditation.
Texas Health Physicians Group appointed Dr. Shawn D. Parsley as president, succeeding Dr. Michael Stoltz, who retired Aug. 1. Parsley is board-certified in family practice and has been a member of Texas Health Physicians Group since January 2011. Parsley will continue to practice medicine part-time at Lake Worth Family Medicine in Fort Worth, where he has served patients for 13 years. Before joining Texas Health Physicians Group, Parsley held leadership positions with Medical Edge Healthcare Group. Previously, he served in the U.S. Army and became chief of clinics for the largest outlying health clinic in the European Regional Medical Command. He graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and completed residency and internships at the Osteopathic Medical Center. Parsley will also oversee Texas Health Physicians Group clinical operations, physician engagement, recognition and human resources-related issues.
Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth named Ginger Cohen oncology program director. Cohen’s primary role is to work with the medical director and interdisciplinary management/staff and to maintain program excellence and pursue program accreditations. She will also ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements. Cohen, a health care executive with more than 34 years of experience, began her clinical career in oncology. She has held leadership roles across the field, most recently as the chief nurse executive at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Wash. Cohen earned a master’s degree in nursing administration from Texas Woman’s University and has received the Pearl Emma Graff Award for Excellence in Oncology Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma. Cohen trained at the Institute of Healthcare Improvement in the Patient Safety Officer Development Program and is board-certified in health care management. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
USMD Holdings Inc. added four new physicians –Sachin Gupta, Libby Dilg, Katrina Roop and Satish Pasala. Roop will practice at USMD’s North Richland Hills Clinic. She completed her residency in family medicine at Florida Hospital East Orlando and received her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Pasala will practice at USMD’s Arlington North Clinic. He completed his fellowship in endocrinology and his residency in internal medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. He received his medical degree from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in Gulbarga, India. Gupta and Dilg will practice at USMD’s Las Colinas Clinic. Gupta completed his fellowship in cardiology and an advanced fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and his medical degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Dilg completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) received the Kay Bailey Hutchison Leadership Award from the Texas Federation of Republican Women. Granger is the first woman to receive the award, which recognizes trailblazers in Texas Republican women’s politics who have shown extraordinary abilities. The purpose of the award is to encourage Texas Republican women to seek political office, and in doing so, to honor former U.S. Senator Hutchison.
Two partners of Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier LLP in Fort Worth – Allyson B. Baumeister and Susan S. Roberts have been honored by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). Baumeister, the 2015-16 chairman-elect for the group, received the society’s Special Recognition Award for her dedication and commitment to the profession at the local, state and national levels. Roberts was elected secretary for the TSCPA for the 2013-2014 fiscal year and will serve as coordinating officer for the External Relations/Image Issues Committee. Both Baumeister and Roberts have been active for many years in the state organization and at the local level within professional associations, civic organizations and community nonprofits.
Gary Walker, president and founder of SCM Real Estate Services, has completed a real estate management program for experienced executives at Harvard Business School in Boston. Walker, who has more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience, also is the managing partner of SkyWalker Property Partners, the managing member of Hangover Opportunity Fund LLC.
Dallas developer and humanitarian Lucy Billingsley received the 30th H. Neil Mallon Award given by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth on Oct. 25. Billingsley is a longtime member of the council and its board, and was recognized for her contributions to the region’s international reputation.
Merrill Lynch wealth management adviser Shott Miller of Fort Worth has been named to the 2013 REP. magazine’s Top 100 Wirehouse Advisors list. This is the first year Miller has been recognized for his accomplishments on this list.
Texas Health Resources has been named a recipient of the 2013 Enterprise HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the nation’s major health information technology association. The award recognizes excellence in the use of health information technology, specifically electronic health records, to improve health care delivery processes and patient safety with a demonstrated return on investment.
Eleven Texas Health Resources hospitals made “A” grades for patient safety, according to the latest Hospital Safety Scores from The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog on the quality and safety of hospital care. The hospitals that received “A” grades were: Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall.

The University of North Texas Student Money Management Center has earned the Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education’s Outstanding Financial Counseling and Planning Center Award for 2013. The national award is given to a center that has demonstrated its effectiveness in the community, responded to needs of its target audience and delivered materials appropriate for its audience. The center will be recognized at the association’s annual conference Nov. 22 in Greenville, S.C.
Keri and Jay Redford have been promoted to associate director at Integra Realty Resources DFW, and Shane McCarty has been hired as an analyst. Keri Redford has been an appraiser of all types of real property since July 2001 including land, retail, industrial facilities, senior housing, office buildings and multifamily properties. In addition, she has assisted with litigation assignments and diminution in value studies for causes, including environmental conditions. She earned her MBA from the University of Dallas and is a member of the Appraisal Institute, CREW Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Estate Council. Jay Redford has been an analyst of all types of real property since 2002 including convenience stores, car washes, offices, retail centers, vacant land, automotive facilities, hotels, schools, churches, industrial facilities, military properties, senior housing, multifamily and wind farms. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he received his master’s degree in real estate, and teaches real estate appraisal, real estate fundamentals and real estate investments classes at the undergraduate level. McCarty recently joined the Fort Worth office of Integra. He has assisted in valuation and consulting services on various property types including land, offices, apartments, retail centers, industrial buildings, senior housing and churches. He has been a member of the Fort Worth Real Estate Council since August.
Colliers International added 35-year commercial real estate veteran Greg Cannon to its North Texas office as executive vice president of industrial sales and leasing. With an extensive career in industrial leasing and sales throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market, he has focused on the landlord and principal ownership side since 1981 with a concentration on behalf of owners. Prior to Colliers International, Cannon was the senior vice president of brokerage services at Transwestern and was a top national achiever for multiple years. Before his tenure at Transwestern, Cannon worked at Cushman & Wakefield, where he was a top national achiever for multiple years. He made the National Achievement Conference as one of the top producers in the country. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and participated in the FIABCI exchange program in London in 1980.
Tom Hund, executive vice president and chief financial officer at BNSF Railway Co., announced his planned retirement during the first quarter of 2014. He will be replaced by Julie Piggott, current vice president of planning and studies and controller. Hund has been in the railroad industry since 1983, serving BNSF in multiple senior management and financial roles. He was previously with Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, a predecessor railroad to BNSF. He has been chief financial officer since 1999. Piggott has been in her current role since 2009. She had been vice president, finance, and treasurer since 2006. Piggott joined BNSF in 1991 and has had various positions in finance, including successive roles as assistant vice president, strategic and financial analysis; assistant vice president, expedited services, in consumer products; and assistant vice president and assistant controller. Prior to joining BNSF, she was with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young and Corporate BancServices.
