TCU vs. Oklahoma State: Preview

The Associated Press

TCU (3-3, 1-2 Big 12 Conference) at No. 21 Oklahoma State (4-1, 1-1), 12:00 p.m. (Fox)

Line: Oklahoma State by 7½.

Series record: Oklahoma State 12-9-2.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Coming off its second bye week in the past month, Oklahoma State is hoping to avoid another sloppy performance like the one following its previous break, a 30-21 loss at West Virginia on Sept. 28. TCU looks to keep its momentum going after a 27-17 win last week over Kansas.

KEY MATCHUP

Oklahoma State's fast-paced offense, led by sophomore QB J.W. Walsh and an offensive line that has allowed just four sacks this season, up against TCU's strong defensive unit that hasn't allowed more than 20 points in a game since its season-opening loss to LSU and has averaged 3.7 sacks per game, tops in the Big 12 and fifth in the nation.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

TCU: QB Trevone Boykin may not have many more chances to start this year, with Casey Pachall getting close to returning from his broken arm, but the sophomore provides a strong running option. Boykin's 101-yard rushing performance on Sept. 12 against Texas Tech marked the Horned Frogs' first quarterback to reach 100 since 1987.

Oklahoma State: LB Shaun Lewis, the Big 12 defensive player of the week after a monster performance in the Cowboys' 33-29 win over Kansas State on Oct. 5, helped generate three turnovers with an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. OSU is 28-1 since 2008 when winning the turnover battle.

FACTS & FIGURES

Oklahoma State is 14-1 in its last 15 home games, since the start of the 2011 season. . Since the beginning of 2009, TCU is 24-7 in games away from home, one of the best records in the nation, which includes a 4-3 mark in Big 12 road games the last two years.
