Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Changi Airport Group have signed a memo of understanding to enhance cooperation between the hubs regarding firefighting, rescue, evacuation and fire safety strategies.

"This agreement sets the stage for us to build and maintain a close strategic partnership between D/FW and CAG with a goal of saving lives," said Jim Crites, executive vice president of operations, D/FW Airport, in a news release.

"Both airports are committed to the safety and security of their passengers, customers and people and this enables us to share and exchange expertise in areas of firefighting, rescue and evacuation operations," Crites said.

Echoing that commitment was Tan Lye Teck, executive vice president, airport management, Changi Airport Group.

"This will further develop the expertise and skills of our officers, and enable them to better respond to emergencies and crises within the airport," Teck said.

Effective for five years, the agreement formalizes the partnership to ensure operational excellence and safety with the best techniques in firefighting and training.

D/FW Airport’s Fire Training Research Center provides fire response techniques and research to firefighters worldwide.
Changi's Airport Emergency Service provides rescue and fire protection at Singapore Changi and Seletar airports, as well as at the Republic of Singapore Air Force air bases.
