Upgraded traffic payment system begins at DFW

GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — An upgraded payment system for drivers leaving Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has begun more than a week after its original start date.

Airport officials on Wednesday launched the new automated parking control system that registers vehicles driving in and out of the complex.

The system was to begin Aug. 26 but was delayed amid transition issues. Airport spokesman David Magana says the upgraded system should reduce wait times to enter and exit.

Entry lanes and most exit lanes are now automated. Drivers will be able to quickly process their own transactions with a North Texas Toll Authority TollTag or a credit card as they exit the airport.

Several booths will be staffed with cashiers at the north and south airport exit plazas.
