Film company rolls ‘em in Near Southside

A. Lee Graham
Reporter

Ultralite Films LLC has opened its headquarters just south of downtown in the Near Southside neighborhood.

The film production company, which specializes in creating marketable Internet videos for businesses and organizations, was founded last year by partners Bud Force, Joey Arcisz, and Erich Schlegel.

“Using a combination of the latest audio-visual technologies and talent, we are crafting films for companies that look more like cinematic movies as opposed to traditional corporate communication videos,” Force said in a news release.

Taking its name from what it called a new breed of “light and fast” production company, Ultralite said it is working with several clients locally and nationwide.

Force, a Fort Worth native, has enjoyed a career as an advertising photographer. Schlegel, a Pulitzer Prize winner based in Austin, recently documented the fastest solo kayak expedition down the Amazon River, while Arcisz has spent years producing videos in the adventure sports and commercial advertising markets.
