Huguley nurse named Teacher of the Year
Her honor: Cheri Stephens, clinical manager for the sixth floor of Huguley Memorial Medical Center, was named “Teacher of the Year” by Universal Health Services School of Vocational Education in Fort Worth.
Her background: For the past year, Stephens has taught nursing students at the Universal Health Services School of Vocational Education. The school is designed for students who work full time. The program allows students to take classes three nights a week, and work the clinical shift on the weekends.
In her Huguley position, Stephens is responsible for orthopedic, pediatric and post-surgical patients on the sixth floor. She also is the director of the Orthopedic Bone & Joint Center at Huguley.
Stephens, a long-time Burleson resident, is working on a master’s degree in nursing at University of Texas at Arlington.

AUI Contractors of Fort Worth received three Excellence in Construction awards from TEXO. Hurst Fire Station #2 won in the Commercial $5 - $10 Million Category. The Ethan Allen store in Southlake took the honors in the Pre-Engineered Building Category. Winning in the Other Construction, $2 million - $100 million Category was Founders Park & Levitt Pavilion in Arlington.
